CRITERIA
Knees operated on less than 3 months prior
CONDITIONS
Study 1 on 20 patients:
15 min session in water at 150c at a speed of 50 RPM compared to a traditional session on a cycle ergometer.
Study 2 on one patient with a total knew Prosthesis:
10 sessions over a month, measurement of the circumference of the knee before and after aquabiking session.
RESULTS
A real impact on the inflammatory signs with a drop in the pain
(-0.4 points on the EVA scale) of the skin temperature (-6 0 on average) and the hydrathosis (1 to 5 cm). There was also a significant improvementin the flexion, 8.6 0 on average after the session compared 2.5 0 using traidional cycle.
CONCLUSION
For a knee that is inflamed following surger, the session with an Easy Aquabike in cold water, provides slightly better results than with a ergometery cycle session with signs of inflammatory and flexion.
